Growing up, I was a curious child who always wanted to understand why things worked and how they could be improved. This curiosity led me to earn degrees in Physics and Communication Studies from California State University, Long Beach. During college, I developed a passion for real-world problem-solving and understanding how different perspectives contribute to the bigger picture, which eventually led me to become a certified divorce mediator. While this work was meaningful, I ultimately realized how much I missed working directly with children and making an impact on their everyday lives.

For more than seven years, I have worked with students ranging from preschoolers to high school seniors, including those with a variety of learning differences and academic needs. My tutoring approach is rooted in meeting students where they are and creating a personalized learning experience that supports both academic and personal growth. I strive to foster a growth mindset by helping students redirect negative self-talk and build confidence in their abilities.

Because every student is unique, every tutoring session looks a little different. Sometimes that means taking a short break after a difficult day, revisiting earlier concepts to strengthen foundational skills, or even having a quick dance party! Most importantly, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and moving forward with confidence. 

I value open communication and strong connections between students, parents, and teachers to provide the best possible support for each learner. Therefore, I like to regularly check in with parents. 

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy exploring nature, long-distance running, and painting. As a Southern California native, I also enjoy spending time at the beach whenever I can.
